Nice to have the team (largely) together . . .
Today was nearly a full turnout – we are looking forward to
seeing David back on the river soon. And
hopefully we can cajole the likes of Peter, Jim, Lee and perhaps some others to
become regular Monday and/or Thursday rowers?
Despite the wind and reasonably high temperature (and
getting hotter), it was a lovely day to be doing something on the river with
all the tennis crowds looking on. The
Cone of Silence descended on the four while rowing upriver as we all enjoyed
the moment rowing together – or perhaps we were straining because our Christmas ‘condition’?
There was lots of little ‘popyeye’ boats darting around
between Southbank and the Tennis Centre – and a few fast moving ferries further
upstream. Still, the breaking waves in the boat did cool us down, right? And it has to be said that one
of the two coxes did have some directional issues when steering – didn’t she?
And congratulations on the birth of your first grand child Mick - have you decided whether he will be stroke or bow side yet and when will be see him at rowing?
I am looking forward to other year of paddling up and down the river with you all . . . although we are going overseas again from Feb 10thto March 20th.
